Randi Shannon Defends Republic for Iowa on the Fallon Forum

Last week I wrote about Randi Shannon, the Republican (and apparent birther) who dropped out of a state Senate race in Linn County to accept a position as senator of the so-called Republic for Iowa. The Republic is a part of the right-wing group The Republic for the united States of America, which argues that because the 41st United States Congress sold the country out to unconstitutional corporate rule in 1871 the Republic is the true government. The Southern Poverty Law Center has documented how the Republic has been “plagued by criminality.”

Here’s Shannon on the Fallon Forum. She begins by lecturing the media on how to do proper investigative journalism for failing to properly read her bizarre letter declaring her intentions to drop out of the Senate race. Then she’s joined by Republic for Iowa Congressman George Templer, who tells host Ed Fallon, who “is chattle of the corporation of the United States,” to “get off your high horse” and let him explain the Republic after Fallon asks how the two were appointed. Because of technical difficulties, the video starts at the 10-minute mark:
