On Saturday, September 11, at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, veteran Ames band the Poison Control Center had the honor of opening for Pavement, a band they’ve admired for years and one that has inspired their own work in a big way.
“The show was mind-blowing,” photographer Tony Galloro told the Progressive over a brief Facebook chat. “Pavement were spot-on” and “the PCC killed it,” he said. “They wowed everyone. People in the crowd were speechless.”
Pavement are currently on a worldwide reunion tour. The band ended their original run a decade ago. Poison Control Center are continuing their own stateside marathon tour.
